“Dear England” – New Wimbledon Theatre – February 2026
In what has become a February tradition for the LMA, members attended the gorgeous New Wimbledon Theatre to watch “Dear England”, the Olivier winning National Theatre production.
As part of the National Theatre’s country-wide tour, “Dear England” , a new play by James Graham, follows England’s men’s football team through the 2024 Euros. One needn’t be a football fan to have been moved by the performance.
Many thanks again to former Merton mayor and Executive Committee member, Janice Howard for organising this splendid evening. Thanks to Janice, shows at the New Wimbledon Theatre have become events to be keenly anticipated each year.
Members had a chance to catch up with old friends and make new ones before the show during the pre-show drinks held in the theatre’s studio space – a treat not afforded many groups.
