The London Mayors of 2024/25 took part in the traditional walk which follows the same route taken by the famous Lord Mayor of Lond, Dick Whittington. Legend has it that Dick was a poor boy who, through his cat’s skills as a mouser, became wealthy and, eventually Lord Mayor of London three times. The present cohort of mayors were thrilled to have a beautiful day in which to follow inhis footsteps.

The 5 mile walk started at the Whittington Hospital and took in many sights along the way including the Whittington Stone upon which sits Dick’s famous cat. The walk gave a great opportunity to chat with other mayors and to let the people of London see all their mayors in full regalia. Tired but happy mayors tucked into a lovely lunch at Mansion House.
