LMA Civic Service – October 2025

The day’s weather was changeable but what never changes is the pageantry of the year’s LMA Civic Service. As usual the LMA service coincided with Westminster Abbey’s special service to mark the Feast of the Dedication. Rich in beauty and history, the service included readings by LMA president, the Right Worshipful Mayor of Westminster, Cllr Paul Dimoldenberg. Mayors from every London borough, accompanied by their mace bearers, processed into the Abbey and were part of this timeless service – a fitting reminder of our roles as Civic Mayors, dedicated to service to our communities.

The Westminster Abbey choir sang wonderfully allowing all present to reflect on the privilege associated with being our boroughs’ “First Citizen”. The LMA, as always, thanks the staff of the Abbey.
