A group of 45 current and past Mayors to see the musical “The Bodyguard” at the New Wimbledon Theatre, with the lead role being taken by award winning, Melody Thornton of the Pussycat Dolls.

A welcoming drink and a great show were laid on by the staff of the New Wimbledon Theatre thanks to former Merton mayor, Janice Howard. LMA members enjoyed reception and interval drinks and nibbles in the lovely private Studio Space. A gift was given by LMA members to the theatre management in recognition of the theatre’s kind hosting our group.

Members were impressed with the beautiful theatre which opened in 1910 and has been an iconic landmark in Wimbledon town centre ever since as for some it was their first visit. We all departed with a song in our heads and a memorable musical evening.
