LMA Visit Rome – February 2023

Members of the London Mayor’s Association made their civic trip to the “eternal city” where they visited some of the most iconic sights in the world. The Colosseum, the Forum and the Spanish Steps were just some of the historic places experienced by LMA members. The highlight for many, though, was the St Peter’s Basilica and the Sistine Chapel. Absolutely breathtaking.

The Deputy Mayor of Rome hosted the group explaining the importance of British/Italian friendship. This was quickly followed by a visit to the British Embassy at the Villa Wolkonsky. There the group was given a tour of the grounds which included a section of the ancient Roman aqueduct.

During the group’s stay in Rome a day trip was undertaken to Frascati, one of the many beautiful hill towns surrounding Rome, which also produces the famous white wine by the same name.
Although short in duration, this trip packed in so many very memorable moments, creating memories to share for years to come.
