The House Mill in Bromley on Bow- May 2025

Lovely warm sunshine and a gentle breeze greeted us as we strolled towards our destination, the historic Grade 1 listed House Mill on Three Mills Island in the River Lea. With our expert guides we were given an opportunity to learn about the history of the mill as well as the mysteries of gin distillation. On ground level we could view the water wheels that powered the Mill, driven by the tide receding back to the Thames. Fortunately, we chose to visit at a time where our feet would stay dry! Throughout the visit there were opportunities to sample the gin made at the mill. All of this was topped off with a wonderful cream tea served with Earl Grey – gin that is!
